Longarm quilting

I have a Juki longarm quilting system on which I freemotion quilt or follow a pantograph (pattern).  These designs are known as edge to edge.

Quilt Top

  • Examine your quilt, check all the seams are joined together correctlyand there are no weak seams.
  • Trim loose threads and check it lays flat.
  • To check that it is square, fold in half both directions.
  • Press the quilt top well.
  • Do not baste your quilt.  Each layer is loaded onto the longarm system separately.
Backing
  • The backing needs to be 6" larger on all four sides of your quilt top.  This allows for take up whe the quilt has been quilted.
  • If joining the backing, please use 1/2" seams and press open.
Wadding
  • Wadding also needs to be 6" larger than your quilt top.
  • If I supply the wadding, there will be an extra charge.
Threads
  • My Longarm is sensitive to threads and I usually use Superior threads.  All threads are included in the price.
