Chinese Coin Tutorial

This is a great quilt for using up scraps or just your stash.

Cut 8 x 1½” or 2" strips x 20" long

Using the usual ¼" seams, stitch strips together down the length.

Press all the seams one way.  Lay the strips horizontally and square up the left hand edge.

Now measure 4½" from the left edge and cut 4 strips.

Join each of the four sections together in one long piece and press.

Repeat this process again x 3 in different colourways or with your scraps.

Trim the Chinese coin lengths to 46”.

Cut 5 strips of sashing 5 ½” x 46”.

Join sashing to outer edges of the pieced strips. 

Add border and cornerstones, layer up, quilt and bind.
